Third SMM stakeholders’ workshop

25-26 September 2018, Kisumu, Kenya

IUCN, UNECE and IGAD Secretariat with funding from OES US State Department and SDC supported the Third SMM stakeholders’ workshop held from September 25-26, 2018 in Kisumu, Kenya. This meeting served as a platform to analyse and discuss the design of a Memorandum of Understanding to enhance cooperation in the SMM as well as to review the Investment Framework for the SMM.

Second SMM stakeholders’ workshop

6-9 May 2018, Mbale, Uganda

IUCN, UNECE and IGAD Secretariat with funding from OES US State Department and SDC supported the Second SMM stakeholders’ workshop held from May 6th-9th, 2018 in Mbale, Uganda. This meeting took forward the deliberations on the SMM investment framework planning process using the Benefit Opportunity Assessment Tool (BOAT) which is a dialogue and decision-support tool and in addition the meeting discussed the roadmap for the completion of the SMM investment framework as well as the institutional framework that would coordinate the SMM transboundary management and development.
